I have kept this ace under the table for too long and it's time to show. I fear that my hit count will go way down without Leigh checking in every 5 minutes(: The floppy hat is a hit. I'm generally sad that the recent resurrection of the floppy hat has yielded relatively few public sightings, even in the sunniest places. Floppy hats need to have more of a presence in the Grand Canyon state. If my unfounded plea isn't enough to convince you... consider this. A wide horizontal line about forehead high (your floppy hat) will create an opitcal illusion... and the other horizontal line on your outfit, about waste high (your belt), will appear smaller. Just make sure that your floppy hat is wider than your hips, or else the opposite effect will take place.
It was a risk that paid off. Well done Leigh. We got the shot. I would quit the gym and hit the ice cream and just hang one of these on the wall.
I think the candid shots toward the end typify a 21st century family portrait. Fun. Light. Hair not perfect. I can't wait to examine these more closely on the big screen.
Enjoy.
P.S.
In reference to the hat phenomenon... Not everything on your head needs to be wider than your hips. Ball caps, bandanas, and knit snow caps send a subtle message to a guy that says "I'm kind of going out of my way to do something cute."
