A couple days ago Amber Lorman bopped into the studio to pick up a few fine art prints. We chatted for a bit out by her car in the parking lot and I couldn't help but just stare at her. Hopefully, that's not as weird as it sounds. I just remember thinking. I can't wait to photograph Amber. So her wedding was Saturday night, April 21, at the ultra finished and beautiful Villa Siena in Gilbert. I couldn't sit still before the shoot so I was bouncing all over Tempe to kill time... Went to Tempe Camera to get some stuff, Urban outfitter for a new shirt (I decided the one I was wearing wouldn't do it today), and Borders. While in Borders I was reviewing some work by Mark Seliger and admiring an amazing studio session with Drew Barrymore. Those two jive together very well and occasionally there is that intense connection with a client that makes iconic stuff. I've enjoyed a few similar shoots, I'll feature them later on. I bought Contuum by John Mayer and jammed it in the car to Villa Siena. "Gravity" by John Mayer has got to be the most soulful song I've heard in a long time, that was my in-the-head background music all night. Amber and Mike were ultra cool and their families too. Dave, FOB, was subconciously nervous but on the surface as cool as a cat. His body language gave him away though. I've got an intensely soft spot for Fathers of the Bride. My heart breaks to think about a father daughter dance with Ava Liv. We dance all the time in the kitchen, just so I can get all the emotion out before her wedding in 20something years.
I'm going to post a slideshow of this stuff soon...In the mean time, here is my favorite shot of the day. They had no clue it was taken.
